MEDITATION – TOWARDS ETERNITY OF BLISS

Translation of the book 'MARANAM PARAMANANDATHINTE THAKKOL',written by Anand Unnithan.Translated by: Krishna(Krishnankutty Nair).

                                                          10

MEDITATION – TOWARDS ETERNITY OF BLISS

The word ‘meditation’ brings to mind the Asanas (The special way of sitting or standing while practicing yoga) or Mudras(Yogic gestures made with hand while practicing yoga).  But how many of them know meditation through experience?
Yes. Meditation has various stages. It extends from quietening the disturbed mind to experiences beyond human levels.
Many of them have been proven scientifically.
Remember, while chanting or listening mantras (incantations) in the vedic (The four ancient texts of India) style, there forms extraordinary energetic/magnetic layers around the doer.
They appear as the interference of super human-ness upon human system.
(But almost all the mantras which are devised to-day cannot claim this greatness. Maybe, it is due to the reason that they are created at human levels.)
Old mantras may be the outcome of the worshipful-ness of self-realized souls.
I myself had direct experiences of this. For quite some time, I was under treatment for feeling a burning sensation on my entire body.  And also acute tiredness and severe head ache.  During that period, I happened to listen Mrithyunjaya Mantra and Shanthy Mantra (Vedic mantras) which was quite unexpected. I felt that I was being pulled away by the mantras.
Then I slipped into a state of deep meditation.
I experienced that I was sitting here on the earth in meditation – which is not usual- and the Earth and myself moving round and round with the same speed.
Suddenly the pleasant vibrations owing to change of energetic levels rushed into me.
At last the few moments which made me realize myself and the universe ended.
When I returned, the pain and heat had vanished!  And not only that, but I felt myself as more healthy and energetic.
Yes. Those sounds had made me an extraordinary wave.
With the thought process ceased, I had become meditation.
Then in the power of the Cosmic Energy, I got cured.
It is not the mantra which gave that energy.
It was just taking me to meditation as a fresh wavelet.
And when that wavelet happened to communicate with that great energy which separate and unite and control the stars and globes and atoms, it happened.
That great energy is like a rain which originates on its own and rains ceaselessly.
But man walks below the umbrella of thoughts, without getting wet in that rain.
As soon as he removes that umbrella, he begins to get wet in that rain.
That rain cools, cleans and energizes him with vitality.
Yes. Without getting wet in that rain, it will not happen. And you cannot get wet in that rain, if there is that umbrella above you.
When he become an open basin leaving away all thoughts, then that energy will fill in him.
When he fills with the Energy, it overflows from him. That is, it flows outwards of him.
In that way, he becomes a magnetic field.
And even those who happen to enter in that magnetic field will also experience it.
While seeing the real yogis, people say: ‘What a liveliness! Did not become conscious of the passing of time, while he was speaking.  How bright his eyes are! How attractive his gaze is!’
Remember.  The great cosmic energy works always in each human being, although he does not know it.
Only the self-conscious people can have total faith in the activity.
Man sleeps after the hard works of the day. Even then, a small portion of the great energy enters into him.
But through meditation, he himself becomes a channel of that great energy.  And it fills in him and then flows to the surroundings.

The flow of that energy occurs in small measure during some other times too.
While going through unfamiliar circumstances, while enjoying the sea and river and stars and desert and jungle and sky, while enjoying sex as an intense, real and unfeigned experience, in deep love, in extra-ordinary climatic experiences like heavy rain and dense fog and cool wind and thunder and lightening, the cosmic energy will fill in us.
When our conscious mind involves in enjoys something wholly, no thought will occur and that is the reason for such a flow of energy during those times.
Your thoughts temporarily come to an end in a thunder and lightening.  A cool wind takes you to a pleasant state of experience.
At those times, you will not like to think anything. Because you are fully merged with the happy situation.
And without your knowledge, you will be getting momentary visions of the soul.
And during all these times, the cosmic energy will be flowing into you.
But you cannot continue in that state. Because, by this time, the mind would have started thinking.
And the result is the end of that great flow of energy.
You are keeping yourselves swathed.
Even then, momentary visions of the soul and brief flows of the great energy into you is happening regularly, although you are unaware of it.
Yes. The awakening to the constancy of that awareness is meditativeness.
It is actually meditation itself.
Yes. Never be a slave to the techniques of meditation, but awake into meditativeness.
But it does not mean that the procedures and techniques are irrelevant.
Definitely they are relevant and necessary.
But it is not necessary for everyone.
Science is discovering many things at some or other point of time in the process of its growth.
Some people use different names to meditation.
People like Dr. Herbert Bendon speaks about relaxation response.  It is said that doing relaxation technique for ten or twenty minutes every day, the negative effects of stress will be cured.
Yes. Science is advancing.
Science says. “During meditation, blood pressure and heart beat and breathing will become normal and negative emotions like desperation, disappointment, anger etc.  will be suppressed.
Science relates it to the working of the brain.
In a person, in whom desperation, fear etc. are abnormally high, the Right Frontal Cortex of his brain will be more active. The Left Frontal Cortex of such people will be of lesser use.
But in such people, who are almost always happy and possess the energy of positive emotions, Left Frontal Cortex will be more active.
Based on the functioning of these left and right parts, the mental state of each person is being determined.
Yes. Science is progressing.
The left frontal cortex of that person, who meditates always, will become more active while the functioning of his right frontal cortex will be slowing down.
And this will bring peace and calmness and happiness in a person, while keeping away the undesirable emotions.
Yes. This change has been proven scientifically.
Meditation leads to genetic changes.
Yes. Science has to develop a lot more.
Where do the dying stars go? How do they come alive again?
Which energy interrupts and halts them?
But what is the relation between meditation and these phenomena?
Yes. Definitely, there is relation. It is the same Cosmic Energy which functions in man too.
Therefore it is necessary to learn more about the states of energy and magnetism, both small and big.
Compounding two salts, a scientist may be able to make a different salt. But is he able to create a salt from nothingness?
Yes. The Cosmic Energy is borne on its own.
Let it be anything. Let it be due to any reason.
Yet, we have to deliberate over certain activities.
We know that life is a reality. Also know that everyone has to leave their bodies one day.
But do you think that when man departs, he leaves all his unfulfilled desires here in this earth?
And live here are the relatives of the deceased, who fulfil his desires in order to enable him to attain salvation.
But how many people know as to what happened to the deceased person?
The important thing is that each life is a separate line of activity.
Based on that line of activity, every life reincarnates.
Only after knowing this in detail that a person will be able to decide the way in which he has to live.
After making so many calculations, it is understood that the trinity of creation, sustenance and destruction occurs on the basic of the results of accumulated Karma.
Yes. Death and life and re-birth are significant.
Otherwise, meditation will become only an amusement of mind.
Remember. An individual is the line of his own activity. And accordingly, he accepts new births.
Then God become just.
On the other hand, if there are good and bad births, then God is not just.
Yes. My God is the greatest among the Justs.
If a person is virtuous and does good deeds, he gets noble births. And the sinner gets wretched births.
Certainly, it is not within the control of humans.
Yes. The power which decides births is the same power which separate and unites and controls the stars and atoms.
And those who do not realize it, weeps and puts rice in the mouth of that body which is renounced by the soul!
To believe in the line of Karma, one has to believe in death and the path after death and reincarnation.
One can believe in rebirth only when he realizes the truth that the soul is eternal.
And to realize it, the person has to face death.
He who happened to know death and then returned to life will have faith in the eternity of soul.
Yes. He had gone beyond death.
Otherwise, he would never have believed it, even if someone had explained it a thousand times.
Another thing is that some people retain the memories of the previous birth!
And the discoveries of these people, after locating the background of the previous birth, have since been approved by science.
Some people possess memories from the previous birth.
Some of them experience it much early in their lives.
A seven year old boy discloses that he was a woman of thirty years in the previous birth and was murdered and her dwellng place was a far away village where her husband and children are still residing and she was murdered by her husband’s younger brother and so on and so forth.
Thereafter the child goes away and search out the relatives of his last birth. And on the strength his revelations of incidents and secret talks of the past, the relatives of his former birth admit that what he says is true.
And everyone admits that he is the re-birth of that woman!
We have witnessed a number of such incidents.
And yet we say that the ghost of the great grandfather has possessed the little grandmother!
It is as if the great grandfather is wandering around without any work!
As if he can wander as he likes and the laws of divinity is not applicable to him!
If that is the case, he could have taken birth as a beautiful multi-millionare and wiped out poverty from the face of earth.
Anyway, the incidents like the one narrated above, point out the immortality of the soul.
Another thing is facing death.
Sometimes, those who had brain death returns to life later.
Here we will have to believe that when we took them as dead, their consciousness was alive.  And like an eye-witness, they explain the incidents which took place around them while they were dead.
If their consciousness had perished, how can they do so?
If we go through the studies made to discover as to what happens after death, we can find out thousands of experiences of having overridden death.
Even then people say” ‘I don’t believe in these. If I happen to return after death, then I will believe.’
What efficient fools they are!
But to them, who is at least prepared to study this although they do not believe in it, these are all evidences.
Yes. While realizing the immortality of soul, one has to believe in the line of Karma.
Even while believing in line of Karma, people ask. ‘Will the line of Karma vanish if we meditate?’
Remember. Line of Karma is like a firefly. When Sun dawns, the firefly loses its charm. Line of Karma too disappears like that.
You see, a giant is a line of Karma.
But he gets salvation on getting killed by God.
The line of Karma of the giant is a collection of harmful deeds.
As soon as Divinity reacts and fills in him, his line of Karma ends.
Haven’t you heard? Great Yogi and the perpetual hunter of worldly pleasures get deliverance. The most saintly person and the cruelest man get deliverance.
Remember. Meditation melts the burden of previous karma.
Move around own breath. Bend and turn and observe consciousness.
Do not consider meditation as something for pleasure alone. Consider it as a bomb in your hand, smouldering to explode at any time.
Think as to what will happen if it explodes.
But be quiet and peaceful during all these.
Yes. That, which separates and stops and controls the stars and atoms, is the science behind everything.
Those who grasp this fact awake to meditativeness. And meditation takes them to bliss eternal.

Just ponder over a single moment. ..
I talk. You talk. Animals and birds make noises. The sound of wind. The sound of vehicles and machineries.
Crores and crores of sounds.
All these come together as the great noise which surrounds Earth.
And at last, that noise too melts into eternity.
But why? What for?
Eternal…..unknown… inexplicable.
And this itself is its taste and flavour.
The knowledge one gains while being within each nature is limited.
Knowledge is bliss. But man, as said by that great man, tries to define the unlimited, staying within limits!
In front of him are more closed doors than the open ones.
Still, let us continue the journey - through eternity to explain the unknown!

AWAKENING TO GODLINESS – THE RIGHT OF THE SOUL

Translation of the book 'MARANAM PARAMANANDATHINTE THAKKOL',written by Anand Unnithan.Translated by: Krishna(Krishnankutty Nair).                                                 8

AWAKENING TO GODLINESS – THE RIGHT OF THE SOUL

Everyone has a right to it. Let him be a monk who discarded everything, or the family man who leads an ascetic life, or even the vulgar and drunkard Paramu Vellikkara (Name of a person).
Because we are all human souls which functions from within the divinity called supreme soul.
Yes. God is my root.
Then I am God.
And the evidence to it?
Please look. The biggest evidence is the great men, the achievers of super human powers through meditation. isn’t?
Please note that when I say achievers of super human powers, I did not mean all those priests or saints or sorcerers. I meant only those who achieved super human powers through meditation.
He can be a priest or a saint or a sorcerer.
Or may be an auto –rickshaw driver who leads an ordinary life.
Or it may be a notorious harlot.
Yes. It doesn’t matter as to who it is.  The only thing is that the person must have super human powers attained through meditation.
The power of meditation is divinity itself.  There is no sense in bowing in front of phonies. It neither gives nor enables to experience meditational powers. And when it cannot be possessed after going for it, it will make the person dejected. What a disgrace! Leaving off with great difficulty the habit of getting drunk, he went to meditate, but after meditation returned by the next bus without achieving anything! What a pity? Moreover, he was persuaded by them to pay a sum of ten thousand rupees to their charity fund! Will he get a heavenly reward at least for that noble deed!
There is no sense in laughing at ignorance, I agree.  Yet, I write this hoping that those who are still asleep may wake up and begin to think reasonably after reading this.
if a person helps anyone to get the blessing of God or to reach heaven, then remember that the person also will be in the chain of the same activity.
But even a small prayer of the person, who has reached the plane of  divinity, will be a blessing of God.
His words will become true.
Yes. The words of that person, who has reached the plane of  divinity will have super human powers.
But he will not curse anyone, since his aim is universal well-being. The divinity in him will not allow that.
Yet, those who give pain to them will have to face danger.  It is purely the will of God.
But it will not gladden the soul-conscious men.
Not only that.  He will also pray for the well-being of those people who pained him.
Yes. They are the lives which are conscious of all the three worlds.  Earth, heaven and hell.
They are Gods themselves.
But if one sits for hours together in some yogic posture calling God, will it give salvation?
These are thoughts delivered immature.  Because, thoughts delivered after getting developed fully in mind will contain both questions and answers.
But only the soul-conscious people are able to think that way.
Others will go on delivering immature thoughts.
Being self-conscious means awakening to divinity. People, who are unconscious of themselves, just wander observing the outside views, without thinking about themselves.
Yet, there will come a few moments, when he will think about his self.
Momentary visions.
I am not telling about thoughts like his having taken no meals.
I am telling about that question. WHO AM I?
As said earlier, there are many reasons which lead to it.
But once it happens, it cannot be forgotten.
Slowly he recognizes his own breathing. Recognizes his heart beat.
And realizes the constant swing of soul.
This movement, which he may experience rarely while his body is motionless, may amaze him.
And a thousand questions without an answer may hunt him.
He may even doubt as to who created God if God has created the world.
He may go on searching.
The journey of the person who believes something or other without any deep thinking will end up in various insincere, clownish roles.
He will be anything like an atheist or a person claiming to have spoken directly to God or one who sprays Bhasmam (holy ash) from the sky or a mad man.
But the person who continues his journey with full concentration will come in contact with different states of life, which is nothing other than the movement of the soul, which he had come to know earlier on odd occasions.
And it will make him blessed.
Because that experience will become the evidence to his faith.
Further journey will provide him with holy experiences of divinity.
But if he longs for the recurrence of these ecstatic experiences, it will take him away from the aim and will endanger him.
But if he continue the journey through Tapas (penance), divinity will slowly flow into him.
Gradually he will reach the state of union of Jeevatma and Paramatma (Individual soul and Super Soul) and will enjoy bliss eternal and reach the zone of jnana (Knowledge of the Absolute).
In the state of eternal bliss, he will enjoy Samadhi (the highest state of meditation) etc.
In this way, he rises to the stage of divinity.
But even a thought about the first step itself will be an impossibility to a person who has no previous experience on these lines in the previous birth.
But the men who have attained deliverance (who enjoy universal freedom) by the grace of Almighty have designed different systems and programs for the ignorant people.
The various paths like yoga, worship of deities, Sufism, meditation, places for worshiping God, different methods of worship, Tanthra (The path of mysticism and magical practices) and all other similar practices are included in this.
All these are meant to ensure that during the journey towards the target attention should be focused on the target alone.
Remember that only those incarnations which takes birth by the will of  God alone can easily wake up into divinity.
Yes. Even those who get a momentary glimpse are very fortunate indeed.
They will be able to reach the Absolute Bliss at least after going through a number of births.
To a few of them, the achievement will be in a moment by the grace of God.
Yes. And wear ochre coloured clothes if they need. Those who do not need it may wear anything.
Let those who desire so may establish Ashrams (The special accommodations where only those who have spirituality as their way of life reside) or take shelter in Ashrams or depend on a spiritual master or make speeches on spirituality. Others, who do not want these, may abstain from these.
Those who want to sit without doing anything may do so.  Others, who want to do works, may do works.
Yes. Self-realization does not mean leading a monastic life. Monastic life is only one of the paths to reach there.
Those who have the energy to proceed unmindful of any of the above customs or bondages are at liberty to proceed on their own way. And those who need guidance may take a suitable path as explained above to learn the path.
But remember one thing. It is meditation which is the important thing.
Meditation is not sitting with closed eyes.
It is the continuation of awakening or awareness.
It is self-consciousness.
It is the state of meditativeness.
It is divinity.
Some people ask: “What is divinity?”
It is beyond an explanation. How can you explain ecstasy except to say ecstasy?
It can only be experienced. Only that person, who has experienced it, can only understand anything said about ecstasy. What is the use in telling a blind man about elephant and goat?
Divinity is also like that. The only way to know it, is experiencing it.
But that awakening is the right of the soul.
And let divinity interfere for that….!

PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY

TRANSLATION OF THE BOOK 'MARANAM-PARAMANANDATHINTE THAKKOL' WRITTEN BY ANAND UNNITHAN. TRANSLATED BY:KRISHNA(KRISHNANKUTTY NAIR).copyright@anand unnithan(author of the book)

                                                          7

                                          PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY
Death and after-death are all there.  Let them be.  But before that there is the full term of life, to be lived here.
And it is here that the diversities co-exist.
Gautama Buddha and Jesus and Mohamed Nabi and Sree Krishna and Sree Sankara on the same state of existence.
And on a different state of existence are Hitler, Mussolini and Bush.
And in between are Pachu and Gopalan and others.
Here again, the wisdom of Pachu differs from that of Gopalan.
Pachu cannot understand what Gopalan says and Gopalan cannot follow what Pachu says.
To Buddhan, Hitler is the replica of Lunacy. And Hitler takes Buddhan as the image of madness.
And the reason for these differences is the existence of different stages of consciousness and different levels of intelligence.
The poor man Pachu is devoted to holy Buddha while he abhors Hitler.
As far as Gopalan is concerned, he doesn’t know either Buddha or Hitler! Yet, from what he had heard from others, he is fond of Hitler.
How funny!!!
But everywhere on this earth, the situation is similar.
No one on this Earth can think or act exactly like others. It is impossible.
When that is the situation, which type of work is possible here?
The issue is too complicated.
And the answer is more complicated.
The question about the type of work raises further questions.
For whom? For what? In which Basis? Who? Where? How?
Questions do not end.
That is why some religions say that all the truths are not to be disclosed to one and all. Yes. Not only that all people are not able to grasp everything, but it will also lead to further predicaments.
‘It is not you who performs all these functions.’ Said Sree Krishna to Arjuna in a particular situation. But if someone misinterprets this advice and begin to slay all people whom he happens to see and then declare that it is not he who did the killings, then what will happen?
It is only in the minds of those who have Sathva guna (having the pure quality of the soul) that a principle can create a virtuous reflection. But if the quality of mind is Thamo guna (The nature of darkness or inertia) the same principle will create onlyThamo guna.
It is because thoughts and principle are different states of energy.
And it can only put the machine into action.
Using atomic energy, nations could be eliminated while the same energy can be used to lead nations to progress.
Always remember that in different human beings - who could otherwise be called as different human-machines - the single principle of atomic power has different reactions.
It is only when the external energy called theory or principle combines with the soul of the individual that a man of Thamo Guna can have Sathva Guna.
Otherwise, all theories are good as well as bad at the same time.
And the reason for it is that the nature of intelligence and consciousness of people are different.
So, What is practical is only a practicable philosophy,.
Whatever may be the rationale behind it, one thing is necessary. That all those beings who have born on this earth must be able to lead a pleasant life.
It is all true that death will take everyone one day and it is impossible to take anything at that time. But there should be a suitable situation here in order to live comfortably till the time of death.
And as far as this aspect is concerned, there is no sense in uttering some dry philosophy.
Some people say that this world is not good and so it necessary to attain salvation at the earliest.
Let them open the eyes to see how beautiful this world is.
Yes. Universe is divine.
And man is the wholeness of universe.
Let it be. But saying it will not satisfy the hunger.
How will it be if a mother goes away leaving her new- born baby telling that the child is also the wholeness of universe like herself?
No doubt the child will die if no one comes to rescue it.
The duty of the mother at that time was to breast-feed the child and help it to grow.
Instead, if everything is surrendered to God, what will happen?
Thou art me.  I am you.
If that is the case, then it is enough that you take food. Why should I eat?
The Brahman (The absolute, supreme reality behind everything) is you.
True.
You and I and everyone are the part of Brahman. But you and I do not become the wholeness of it.
Brahman is the sum total of everything, inclusive of you and me.
Yes. I am fullness. And the Brahman which is the sum total of everything is also fullness.
Yet, I am a part of that Brahman.
Without me, nothing becomes complete.
But, I am not everything.
Just by having that knowledge alone, which is beyond the reach of sense organs, it is not possible to exist in a world, which is bound by sensory experiences.
Such an existence is possible only if the entire world wake up to that divinity which is beyond the reach of sense organs.
But the entire world will not wake up to that stage.
If it wakes up, the problem will end. No hunger, no thrist, no lust, no wealth, no power.
Let Nirguna Brahman (The supreme reality without any form, quality or attributes) become the state of absolute bliss!
But while thinking all this, where do we stand?
Here.  On this Earth.
That too as the thought of one person among crores of people! It is here that the question of practicability arises.
It is here that divinity is divided as spiritual and material.
Wherever it becomes impossible to explain things clearly, thinkers and intellectuals and priests and philosophers say in the same voice.
Beyond the thoughts.
Again the question of Practicability.
Those who take to philosophy and accept a difficult life in this world in order to attain happiness in the other world are just morons.
Both are heaven. This world and that world.
And those who do not realize this, both worlds are hell.
Both worlds are equal.
Therefore, do your duties for the well-being of this world.
It is here that nation and laws become necessary.
And practical philosophy gives it proper form.
Since everyone is different from each other, it is necessary to have a few things common to all so as to keep up peace and harmony.
Nation becomes a necessity. Constitution and laws become applicable. Every officials right from the head of the nation to the Panchayat member become a need. The system necessarily require a lot of arrangements like law enforcement officials, courts, news media, physicians, hospitals, facilities for exchange of ideas, soldiers, people’s representatives, artists, priests and thousands of other arrangements.
And this common system is dharma (Dutifulness).
Where dharma is destroyed, everything will be destroyed.
Therefore, to safeguard dharma, it is necessary to be engaged continuously in nishkama karma. And such an engagement is Tapas (penance).
And such a person will also be a visitor.
He is action and inaction at the same time.
And he enjoys Each moment of his existence with great relish.
Yes. His body works always, but his mind is never turbulent and rests in his soul always.
Externally, he works incessantly, but internally he rests incessantly.
He works for the welfare of the world which includes him too.
Being sagacious, he has to work for the entire world.
Because, if one decays, the other one also will decay.
So he must work always to maintain dharma.
Yes. As said by God, if I sit without doing karma even for a moment, everything will collapse.
I have nothing to achieve here. Yet, I must do karma.
This is my mission. This is the purpose of my life.
Yes. To become the upholder of practical system of dharma is my duty.
But one thing.  The practical system of dharma should not be against divinity or universality.  If so, it will not be dharma.
Because everything is relative to the universe.
So let philosophical thoughts develop with the power of practicability.
And let more and more incarnations of God arise. Let more and more Karma Yogis (People doing nishkama Karma) emerge.
For the well-being of the universe, let the mahatmas (great people) win in the never-ending battles with the selfish ones.
And let it be blissful here, there and everywhere.

DO NOT OVERLOOK LIFE FOR MONEY

TRANSLATION OF THE BOOK 'MARANAM-PARAMANANDATHINTE THAKKOL' WRITTEN BY ANAND UNNITHAN. TRANSLATED BY:KRISHNA(KRISHNANKUTTY NAIR).copyright@anand unnithan(author of the book)

                                               6

DO NOT OVERLOOK LIFE FOR MONEY

How to explain it all? Except as the gambling of a visitor!

We are all visitors, who have to continue the journey through the path of changes after knowing and experiencing everything.
It is easy to speak incessantly about knowing the self and asceticism. But can a person live without money?
Is it possible either to a lustful materialist or to a monk?
Only that person, who is determined to die of starvation, can have the courage to declare that money is not needed.
Because the present society is defined on the basis of money too.
There will not be any need for money if everything is available free of cost.
But if that happens, man will doubtlessly be a totally idle living being.
At present they do a variety of jobs.  And it is all for money.  Rarely there may be someone who does works in a selfless manner and not for money.
If we were able to buy a luxurious car by selling one kilogram Tuber then no one will respect a person even if he has the most luxurious car.
But things are not like that.  The person who is able to buy only one kilogram of Tuber is considered poor while the person who can buy a luxurious car is considered as a respectable rich man.
While the society looks contemptuously at the poor, they look at the rich people with reverence, even if he is cruel and deceitful.
Even a sneeze of that industrialist who possesses millions of money becomes front page news in newspapers.
Although they preach ideals, the common people pretend to be subservient, fearful, devoted and respectful when they happen to see a rich man. Nobody complains even if he does something wrong.  ‘But he is rich, No?’
Why to say more. There are gods and goddesses of wealth from the ancient times,
Actually, what is the problem of money?
In fact money has no problem at all. It is man who has problem.
Money has no mind.  And therefore it is never mental.
Yes. The cause of all problems is the mental sickness of man.
To a conscientious person, a beggar who possess only ten rupees received as alms and a rich industrialist whose wealth is one lakh crores of rupees are equal.
The only difference is that when one man can spend only ten rupees, the other man can spend one lakh crores.
What is the need to respect them for this reason?
When someone looks at another person, with avaricious devotion for the reason that the second person is in possession of everything which the first person could not achieve, it is sheer lunacy.
And those who say that it not devotion of that kind, please think once. Is your devotion to a rich man is similar to your devotion to Buddha or Gandhiji or mother Theresa?
Never. Not at all.
And here is the difference between devotion and lunacy.
Wake up.  See money as money only.
Recognize that money is only a medium for transactions as well as to keep alive the interest to work.
Above that, there is no use in worshipping money except to increase lunacy.
As stated earlier, there will not be any need for money to monks too if everything is available free of cost.
Those who live on alms other than money saying that they will not touch money may remember one thing.  The things they accept are bought by money received by somebody as remuneration for the work done by them.
To hate money blindly is also lunacy. No doubt.
Yes. Look at money simply as money only.
Beware you, monks. Society is aware of the ways in which you have to behave. And you must behave like that!!!
It is like this. Do not keep any money with you. Do not keep connections with those who use money. Depend only on alms for subsistence from now on. Do not accept gifts, but give gifts.  Even if you see a gold coin lying on the ground, do not take it, but walk away from that.
What a stupidity!!!
A monk or a conscientious person should also earn wealth.  But it should not be to fulfill his yearning for wealth.  It must be for his survival and for using for his works.  He should not involve himself in nonsensical works. He has the right to receive and also to give contributions.
Since every work done by anyone while he exists in the realm of real knowledge will become nishkama karma (Action done without bothering about the result, with one hundred percent confidence that the result will follow, if the action is done properly.), it will not result in a bondage between the present and future i.e. the present action is not going to have its reaction in the future, as is the case with ordinary human beings, who does the action thinking about the result. So it is not wrong for a real yogi to give and take contributions.
If a gold coin is lying on the floor, take it and ask the people around as to whether it belongs to them.  And if there is no claimant, the person who got it may spend it as he likes. Because the loss is the destiny of one person while the gain is the destiny of another person.
But a monk should not rob anything from anybody.
But it doesn’t mean that he is not supposed to make a bargain or do not set up shop.
To a monk, these are not subjects which will affect his ultimate aim.
But money fascinates the common man since he is not free from Maya (illusion).  The craze for it leads him towards insensible actions. He sells drugs and spirit and poisonous liquor which spoil people while he makes money.  By killing wild elephants and smuggling their tusk, he becomes rich.  Spoiling the equilibrium of the ecological system, spoiling all beings, he makes fortune.  Even countries make money by making bombs which destroy lives en masse.
But being caught up in the rat race to make more money, he misses one thing.
He forgets to live. He fails to enjoy life.
According to Mathew’s Gospel (16; 26)  What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?
Yes. We are just visitors.
When I go from here, I cannot take even a single rupee with me.  Then why should I go on earning, much more than what is needed to live here?
Why I need lakhs and Lakhs and crores and crores? Why?
If I give the excess to someone who needs it, won’t the problem be solved?
How many people are being driven from pillar to post for a single meal?  Why can’t they be fed at least a morsel of food once with love?
Will it not satisfy their desire to be loved?
Why we need surplus money?
Yes. Haves have to give to the have-nots.
Because, when I am hungry, God, who is my father, feed me. When I am thirsty, he give me water. Give me Love.  I accept them as my privilege.
But how can I accept the love which is denied to my brother?
On the other hand, how can I deny God, who is my father?
For God, who is my father, I love my brother sincerely.  I also understand that whatever is given to me are for him too.
What I will do having a heaven all for myself, if I will be alone there?
It is better to die in mother’s womb itself than living seventy years just to earn money and then living one year for spending it.
Yes. Look at money simply as money only.
And those who cannot do so, lives like slaves on the earth and leads a hellish life.
Actually there is no difference between one woman who wears a golden chain and another woman who wears a chain made of pieces of bone.
But there is no use in blaming any of them because both of them do not know themselves.
A woman who cannot wear golden ornament may at time feel revengeful both to themselves and to others. She will be envious. She will decide to possess a golden chain, come what may.
Those who have a golden chain will find delight in exhibiting it to others.  They may even feel that it is the chain which makes them beautiful and respectable.
‘If I do not have that specially designed golden chain, I will not attend the marriage where a lot of women come.’ She may even declare.
No doubt. It is lunacy.
Awake. See the inner beauty first. Then decorate the outer.
To wear an ornament is not a wrong thing.  But to wear or not to wear is one and the same.
But forming of wrong thoughts in the mind without control is an imperfection.
Think consciously.  Why do you show all these decorations to that lady, who is so poor that she cannot even wear a black thread on her neck as an ornament?
What is the use of all this?
You have forgotten. That life is beautiful.
Money is not an illusion. It is a created reality.
It is your thoughts, which are illusory.
Wake up.  Wake up to the reality and enjoy life.
Remember. I am a visitor, who has come to return. To return with empty hands.
Just a son of the present.
