 PRAYING FOR UNIVERSAL WELL BEING

Everything is a prayer.
Tears flowed from his eyes when he thought of the girl who loved him so much once but deserted him mercilessly later.
Being in the great pain of loss, he prayed inadvertently. ‘Oh God, surely I am a deserted one.’
Really I feel like weeping, when I remember her departure leaving me behind alone. ….Yet I pray to you, oh God, to give her only happiness…..Because I love her just like I love thou.
This is real prayer..… This is the sacrifice of love for goodness.  This is Godliness.
Who can pray like this other than a great yogi?  At least he should be a person who has surrendered everything to God. …But now-a-days they, who function in Godliness,  are scarce.
Today, there is none who can love a young girl…! Yet, there occurs lakhs of love affairs, to die out later.
While being in the state of deep love, the lovers dedicate themselves to each other.  The Lover vowing that he is living solely for his darling. And her assertion of having surrendered her life itself to her lover.  Truly, it is a divine situation.
Even if theirs is a passionate love affair and even if it breaks the established social customs and restrictions, still it is a divine situation just because in the situation where love is at the pinnacle of divinity, they will be witnessing the union of  Jeevatma With Paramatma (individual soul and supreme  soul) although they themselves may be ignorant of it and even if they are in a sexual unification.
And even if the sexual unification does not take place, only those who reach and recognize this divine state of love can love the other in such a selfless manner.
Their love is not for their own pleasure. Even the departure of the lover does not hold them back.  In that state, one is more concerned with the pleasure and happiness of his lover rather than of himself.
Separation does not make them separate.
But those who cannot understand this, may possibly love sincerely in the beginning, but later be pretending as lovers.  And this pretention will be for selfish motives.   The male will be pretending so that he should not miss the love and sensual pleasures which he gets from the girl. There he will be concerned only about his own happiness.  And it will become a lax, sloppy relationship.
Slowly, the relationship will lose its divinity, to become monotonous and fake.
And to them karma (actions) becomes a burden which they will be destined to bear.
But divine love and sensuality will continue as prayer. There will not be any bondage of karma there.
The actions in this world of a person who has identified with ‘The Self’ (the inner light) and of another person who is revolving round the wheels of action are also like this.
Those who have identified with ‘The Self’ and even those who had a momentary glimpse of it will work for the benefit of the universe as if it is a prayer to them.
Even the mistakes in their actions will not become a fault.  It is because of the fact that they did it for the benefit of everyone.
Take an example of a doctor who is devoted to his duty to save the sick. And making use of all his knowledge and skill and with full hope of success, he does an operation.  And even if the patient dies during the operation due to a small error of the doctor, he cannot be blamed, because, his intention was to save the patient at any cost. Here the doctor will not be taken as a murderer.
But if a doctor, in his greed for money, does so many operations in a day which is beyond his capacity and without a devotional attitude to duty and commits mistakes and thinks that the patient is not related to him, he is not a man of divinity but a culprit.  And if a patient dies due to his carelessness, his action should be counted as murder.
This is adharma as well as dushkarma (immoral action and sinful action).  And so he will get bound by the chain of karma (action).
It is here that the need of every deed to be a prayer arises, with the doer placing himself firmly in divinity.
Here that important question becomes pertinent.  For what purpose I am born?
And there is only one answer.  To realize my existence and to make it meaningful.
Take the case of a tree. Let us see what are there in its field of activity within its limits.
Even very small children will say that tree provides shade to all beings.  It provides nuts and fruits to birds and other living beings and also provides shelter to them. It supplies Oxygen which is essential to them and accepts Carbon dioxide.  Tree functions as the material for construction of things needed by man and also as firewood for cooking food. And some trees are having therapeutic properties.
Attribute of trees do not end here.  Now just see that when the trees which are destined to remain always at the same place do this much, what do human beings, who boast as the greatest of all beings, do?
He manufactures bombs!  He has become the mutation of the seed of poison, which is enough to destroy not only his own class but the entire world.
It is the result of not thinking logically using the reasoning power.
It is here that the need of those great people, who work for the benefit of the universe as if it is their prayer, arise.
It is here that we need the personifications of selflessness to awake and act. And this itself is the significance of truth and dharma (righteousness).
Creation of divine scriptures, creation of religious institutions, creation of the concept of nation, creation of political institution for the prosperity of nation on realizing that love of nation is not different from divinity, creation of legal structures, systems of administration, and framing of family structure by those  who have reached the pinnacle of Godliness ---
If entire human beings were awake and conscious to remain always in divinity, there was no need for these things.
But the rule of the universe is such that only very few people reach the plane of divinity.
Although we call it pretentious, if that system of morality was not there, this earth would have become the dwelling place of illegitimate children who die of hunger and starvation, old people who die in the street for having none to look after, and the strong, cruel, immoral ones.
Of course, God-realization is not something which can be attained in single attempt.  Each plane of realization is a step leading to ultimate God-realization.
And it is a fact that as far as one is a human being, there are limitations to the realization.
A person, who realizes the continuance of his existence, may happen to think that he is beyond all rules and the man-made laws are baseless and not applicable to him. There is no sense in addressing him as either as a materialist or a spiritual person.
In fact, he is dangerous till he reaches the highest levels of realization.
He may even try to ascertain that the great truth is only a question of existence and if God had desired to make the world absolutely right and moral, he could have done so himself without through humans.
Breaking all rules and laws and social customs and manners, he may engage in such activities, which may, on the face of it, be harmful to the society.
For example, although he may not force a girl to have sexual relationship with him, he will be prepared to have sexual relationship with thousands of women interested in sexual relationship with males other than their husbands.  And he will consider such relationships as harmless.
But he will not think that the people who are prone to live this way will be constrained to live a miserable life on this earth as if in hell, unless they have realized God.
As far as he is concerned, soul is in the body, just for enjoying everything as it likes and to return thereafter.
Yes.  They are dangerous. And it is here that the need of a Guru arises.
A Guru can make him understand the realities behind his actions, by comparing them with his (Guru’s) own past and thereby making him grasp the truth which will lead him to God-realization.
The other path for him is to wait patiently till he achieves realization.
It is such a stage that many of them may become mad, in the confusion as to whether they are going upward or downwards.
Either they will fall down onto a lower plane for the enjoyment of those pleasures which are but only momentary.  Or they will rise to higher planes and achieve realization by giving importance to divinity than to momentary pleasures.
And those who reach a higher plane like this will always remain in divinity and will gradually be lifted to realization of Almighty.
He may be married or unmarried; but will not be interested in married life alone.
He may be always conscious of his aim.
Only he can overcome temptations.  Such people should be in the forefront in any situation.
Yes. They are the people, who show the right path. They are the learned gurus as well as the rulers.
They always remain in Godliness, keeping away all other things like differences, mistakes and caste, creed and religious divisions.
It is possible that such a man may be following a particular religion and the customs related to it.
On the other hand, he may not be the follower of any religion.
Whatever is the case, he always exists in divinity.
They devise plans and projects for the benefit of the world and execute them offering thanks to God. But sometimes, after their demise, it all reaches in the hands of wicked, evil-minded people.  And such people will alter and destroy the arrangements to fulfill their selfish motives and will eventually destroy them all.
And these are the situations which may be termed as origin of dharma and destruction of dharma.
Here restoration of dharma becomes the need of nature.
And it is then that the incarnations of God will be taking birth.
And the field of their attraction will go on expanding so that more and more people will join them and at last, after their demise, it will continue to exist for ages as waves of greatness.
So it will continue.  Dharma, destruction of dharma and its restoration.
And the person, who can think and understand this phenomenon, must work every moment devotedly as if in a prayer for the well-being of the universe, thereby realizing the Godliness in them.
Let the incarnations of divinity who had awakened the endless dawn of ages may awake again.
