                                          PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY
Death and after-death are all there.  Let them be.  But before that there is the full term of life, to be lived here.
And it is here that the diversities co-exist.
Gautama Buddha and Jesus and Mohamed Nabi and Sree Krishna and Sree Sankara on the same state of existence.
And on a different state of existence are Hitler, Mussolini and Bush.
And in between are Pachu and Gopalan and others.
Here again, the wisdom of Pachu differs from that of Gopalan.
Pachu cannot understand what Gopalan says and Gopalan cannot follow what Pachu says.
To Buddhan, Hitler is the replica of Lunacy. And Hitler takes Buddhan as the image of madness.
And the reason for these differences is the existence of different stages of consciousness and different levels of intelligence.
The poor man Pachu is devoted to holy Buddha while he abhors Hitler.
As far as Gopalan is concerned, he doesn’t know either Buddha or Hitler! Yet, from what he had heard from others, he is fond of Hitler.
How funny!!!
But everywhere on this earth, the situation is similar.
No one on this Earth can think or act exactly like others. It is impossible.
When that is the situation, which type of work is possible here?
The issue is too complicated.
And the answer is more complicated.
The question about the type of work raises further questions.
For whom? For what? In which Basis? Who? Where? How?
Questions do not end.
That is why some religions say that all the truths are not to be disclosed to one and all. Yes. Not only that all people are not able to grasp everything, but it will also lead to further predicaments.
‘It is not you who performs all these functions.’ Said Sree Krishna to Arjuna in a particular situation. But if someone misinterprets this advice and begin to slay all people whom he happens to see and then declare that it is not he who did the killings, then what will happen?
It is only in the minds of those who have Sathva guna (having the pure quality of the soul) that a principle can create a virtuous reflection. But if the quality of mind is Thamo guna (The nature of darkness or inertia) the same principle will create onlyThamo guna.
It is because thoughts and principle are different states of energy.
And it can only put the machine into action.
Using atomic energy, nations could be eliminated while the same energy can be used to lead nations to progress.
Always remember that in different human beings - who could otherwise be called as different human-machines - the single principle of atomic power has different reactions.
It is only when the external energy called theory or principle combines with the soul of the individual that a man of Thamo Guna can have Sathva Guna.
Otherwise, all theories are good as well as bad at the same time.
And the reason for it is that the nature of intelligence and consciousness of people are different.
So, What is practical is only a practicable philosophy,.
Whatever may be the rationale behind it, one thing is necessary. That all those beings who have born on this earth must be able to lead a pleasant life.
It is all true that death will take everyone one day and it is impossible to take anything at that time. But there should be a suitable situation here in order to live comfortably till the time of death.
And as far as this aspect is concerned, there is no sense in uttering some dry philosophy.
Some people say that this world is not good and so it necessary to attain salvation at the earliest.
Let them open the eyes to see how beautiful this world is.
Yes. Universe is divine.
And man is the wholeness of universe.
Let it be. But saying it will not satisfy the hunger.
How will it be if a mother goes away leaving her new- born baby telling that the child is also the wholeness of universe like herself?
No doubt the child will die if no one comes to rescue it.
The duty of the mother at that time was to breast-feed the child and help it to grow.
Instead, if everything is surrendered to God, what will happen?
Thou art me.  I am you.
If that is the case, then it is enough that you take food. Why should I eat?
The Brahman (The absolute, supreme reality behind everything) is you.
True.
You and I and everyone are the part of Brahman. But you and I do not become the wholeness of it.
Brahman is the sum total of everything, inclusive of you and me.
Yes. I am fullness. And the Brahman which is the sum total of everything is also fullness.
Yet, I am a part of that Brahman.
Without me, nothing becomes complete.
But, I am not everything.
Just by having that knowledge alone, which is beyond the reach of sense organs, it is not possible to exist in a world, which is bound by sensory experiences.
Such an existence is possible only if the entire world wake up to that divinity which is beyond the reach of sense organs.
But the entire world will not wake up to that stage.
If it wakes up, the problem will end. No hunger, no thrist, no lust, no wealth, no power.
Let Nirguna Brahman (The supreme reality without any form, quality or attributes) become the state of absolute bliss!
But while thinking all this, where do we stand?
Here.  On this Earth.
That too as the thought of one person among crores of people! It is here that the question of practicability arises.
It is here that divinity is divided as spiritual and material.
Wherever it becomes impossible to explain things clearly, thinkers and intellectuals and priests and philosophers say in the same voice.
Beyond the thoughts.
Again the question of Practicability.
Those who take to philosophy and accept a difficult life in this world in order to attain happiness in the other world are just morons.
Both are heaven. This world and that world.
And those who do not realize this, both worlds are hell.
Both worlds are equal.
Therefore, do your duties for the well-being of this world.
It is here that nation and laws become necessary.
And practical philosophy gives it proper form.
Since everyone is different from each other, it is necessary to have a few things common to all so as to keep up peace and harmony.
Nation becomes a necessity. Constitution and laws become applicable. Every officials right from the head of the nation to the Panchayat member become a need. The system necessarily require a lot of arrangements like law enforcement officials, courts, news media, physicians, hospitals, facilities for exchange of ideas, soldiers, people’s representatives, artists, priests and thousands of other arrangements.
And this common system is dharma (Dutifulness).
Where dharma is destroyed, everything will be destroyed.
Therefore, to safeguard dharma, it is necessary to be engaged continuously in nishkama karma. And such an engagement is Tapas (penance).
And such a person will also be a visitor.
He is action and inaction at the same time.
And he enjoys Each moment of his existence with great relish.
Yes. His body works always, but his mind is never turbulent and rests in his soul always.
Externally, he works incessantly, but internally he rests incessantly.
He works for the welfare of the world which includes him too.
Being sagacious, he has to work for the entire world.
Because, if one decays, the other one also will decay.
So he must work always to maintain dharma.
Yes. As said by God, if I sit without doing karma even for a moment, everything will collapse.
I have nothing to achieve here. Yet, I must do karma.
This is my mission. This is the purpose of my life.
Yes. To become the upholder of practical system of dharma is my duty.
But one thing.  The practical system of dharma should not be against divinity or universality.  If so, it will not be dharma.
Because everything is relative to the universe.
So let philosophical thoughts develop with the power of practicability.
And let more and more incarnations of God arise. Let more and more Karma Yogis (People doing nishkama Karma) emerge.
For the well-being of the universe, let the mahatmas (great people) win in the never-ending battles with the selfish ones.
And let it be blissful here, there and everywhere.
